Go Green Esko Garden

u

This spring a group of local gardeners got together with the help of a bunch of Cool Kids and planted the school gardens! We have 6 beds:  a raspberry bed, a blueberry bed, a strawberry bed, a salad garden bed, a salsa garden bed and a pollinator bed. Cool Kids will be harvesting the garden to eat throughout the summer, but it is highly encouraged for the community to come and enjoy the gardens also! So if you are up for a salad this summer and don't have the ingredients stop on by and help yourself!

 What's in the garden?

1. Raspberries

2. Blueberries

3. Strawberries

4. Pollinator garden including plants native to Minnesota and attractive to our local bee and butterfly populations such as milkweed, wild bergamot and little bluestem among others.

5. Salad garden, including lettuce, tomatoes,  cucumbers, sugar snap peas, radish, onions and carrots.

6. Salsa garden, including jalapenos, onion, red and green peppers, tomatoes, and cilantro.

Thank you to Ruth Will, Deb Carlson, Samantha Dammer, Sheelar Fuchs, Christine Ringat, Shelby Metzer, Cassie Janke and Gretchen Grover for making this garden thrive this summer!

The garden is coordinated by Esko Community Education.
