We had a great morning yesterday. We started lesson 8 in language arts. We took a pre-spelling test and everyone did wonderful on -ar blend. We introduced new vocab and read the story 'The Great Ball Game." We did our daily 5 centers, writing a letter to our star student and working on ABC order as well as plurals.
For the afternoon sub the boys and girls did great reviewing cm and measurement!
Today we started my favorite SCIENCE UNIT, the HUMAN BODY! We made a list of everything we know about the human body. It is a pretty long list. Then we read a book that took us on an adventure through the human body. In math, we had five centers. The centers were mega math, making cents, cards, math mountains, and working with Mrs. Putzke. This afternoon we took our chapter three social studies test. We all did WONDERFUL!! After library, we learned about our new sound. TH! I can tell, from the pre-tests, that we really know this sound. After that, we wrote about what we are thankful for! I can't wait to see you all tomorrow!
Today we started with some unfinished.Then we did morning meeting. Next we did centers we had alot of fun.Then we had lunch and recess. next we had music. Then we did math. next we had computer. Now we are having turtle time.I hope you liked this blog. SOPHIA R.

When we got to school we had new spots! Ask me who is at my new table. Then, we wrote in our first grade writing books about trick or treating or something fun we did with our family yesterday. Then, we went into math centers. They were mega math, movie making, math mountains. and activity sheet, and working with Miss C. Miss C either helped me or challenged me today in math. SHE LOVED IT! After that we had phy ed. At phy ed we had free game day! It was a blast! Then after lunch we met Brock's dad! He was so cool and his name was Bob! Then, we went to third grade buddies and read. Ask me who my third grade buddy is. Then we took our spelling test and finished our theme test. Finally at the end of the day we had some free time to shop and color in our new November books! I can't wait to see you all on Monday!
Today we had the best day! We ran right into Reading. For Reading, we retold the story "Little Red Hen Gets Help", we practiced ed and ing endings on words, and we worked more on our high frequency words and telling sentences. After reading we had Art! To start our lesson, we read a book called "Where the Wild Things Are". We made our own WILD things. They are turning out to be soo cool and soo wild! This afternoon, we had PE and music. When we got back, we had visitors. We had our 3rd grade buddies!! We took our Unit 3 social studies test and played a subtraction math card game. Our day ended with B-Mart and Free Choice! Happy Halloween! Today was a really fun day! This morning we had our normal routine. We had language arts and library. For language arts today, we learned about intial l blends (pan to plan, sip to slip, etc). We also worked more with exclamatory sentences, practiced our high frequency words and vocabulary, and reread the story "Little Red Hen Gets Help". For math we took our unit 2 test. This afternoon, we had computer and then it was time for some Halloween fun! We did Halloween activities/centers in each of the first grade classrooms. It was a lot of fun! Ask your child what he/she did in each of the classrooms. While we were back in our room, we played Halloween Bingo, made ghost suckers, decorated a pumpkin cookie, and got many cool treats! I almost forgot, we had a Halloween parade in the hallway today too! We got to parade through and let all of the 2nd and 3rd graders see our costumes. We also got to see all of the neat/scary costumes that the 2nd and 3rd graders had on! I hope everyone has a great time trick-or-treating tonight. Stay safe!! See you all back here tomorrow!
Today we had a fun day! We did a normal morning schedule, then had a fun fall festival in the afternoon. We rotated between the 2nd grade classrooms. In my room they turned a candy corn into a story. Then we did a parade through the school. We ended the day making a popcorn hand snack and doing a candy corn craft.

We started our day saying Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday to Michael in our morning message!! Then we had our math centers!!! During centers we worked on our math mountains and skeletons. Mrs. Young was here during math centers! She was a lot of fun and helped us out a lot! Then we worked on the compass rose. We played our favorite game North, South, East, and West. Ceci and Elijah were our two winners. After lunch, we read the story There was an Old Lady that wasn't afraid of anything! We used props during that story. Ask your child what their favorite prop was. After that we had our Halloween centers. In Miss Battaglia's room we played Halloween BINGO/! In Mrs. Baird's class we made a pumpkin. In Mrs. Durand's class we read a bug Halloween book. After centers we had our Halloween parade. Then we had tons of treats for Halloween and for Michael;s birthday. Joelle's mom and Aleah and Ethan's mom came to help us out this afternoon!! What a FUN day! I can't wait to see you all tomorrow. Be safe tonight!
Today was a quick day! We did our language arts lesson. We took letter cubes and manipulated letters to build our spelling words. Then we took the vocabulary part of our weekly test. After that we got into new centers. In writing, we wrote a story starter of..."If I were a teacher I would..." In word work we wrote the room followed by a domino vocab game. In listen to reading we got to listen to Skippy Jon Jones!
We went to lunch and came back and got ready for the end of the day.

Tomorrow: After speaking with other second grade teachers, it is preferred that you have your child BRING their costume to school and change after lunch. The costume should not take long to assemble :)
When we started today we had our calendar and morning message. NO MORE IPAD! It is weird to get use to, but we are ALL SUPER EXCITED to watch the movie at home tonight. Miss C is coming to ALL of your houses this evening. It's a great one tonight! After that we took our chapter 2 math test! So far, it looks like we all did FABULOUS!!! Next, we went to the cafeteria and watched the kindergarten CIRCUS!! They did an awesome job! Then we had music where we read a Halloween book and played where's the pumpkin? It was a lot of fun. After lunch we packed up, talked about our plan for tonight with our homework and blogged! I hope you have a great day. I can't wait to see you tomorrow for Michael's BIRTHDAY!
