After 10 years in education I am so excited to be joining the Esko community this year! In addition to being a teacher in the district I am also a parent to a 6th and 4th grader who attend Winterquist, so I truly couldn't be more invested in the education and overall well-being of the students in this district.

A quick background on my education and teaching experience prior to coming to Esko: I graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a degree in Biology and a certification in secondary Education. I also hold a Master's degree from St. Mary's University in Teaching & Learning.

I began my teaching career 10 years ago straight out of college in the Hayward School District where I taught a variety of high school science courses. After getting married in 2008 I moved to the Duluth area and taught Honors Chemistry, Physics, and Biology at the Marshall School for 3 years. I spent the last year teaching 7th grade Life Science in the Superior School District earning some additional experience in working with middle-level students.

These first few weeks have gotten off to a great start and I can't be more excited to be working with the students at Esko!
