Kindergarten Curriculum
In kindergarten we will focus on letter and sound recognition.  Students will blend the sounds together to form words and words will become sentences.  Students will be reading short stories with the focus on word families.  By the end of the year the kindergarten students will learn the 36 required sight words and will begin to learn new words that they will see in first grade.

Materials used in the kindergarten curriculum include Harcourt Intervention materials, and Leveled Literacy daily reading books. Multiple games and manipulative activities are used for making words and developing the focused skills.
