Welcome

Dear Parents,

I am Mrs. Paulson, your child’s fifth grade teacher.  The children will come to depend on me for many things other than curriculum instruction.  It is my goal to provide the guidance, support, and understanding that all children need so that they may learn to the best of their ability.  If they have a problem on the bus, in school, or with another child they can come to me.  I won’t always have the answer, but I will try to find one.

Mr. Lindquist and I will be team teaching this year.  I will teach reading/language arts and science for both classes, and Mr. L. will teach math and social studies for both classes. The rest of the subjects will be taught in the students' homeroom.

You are welcome to provide a light healthy snack for your child to eat at the end of the day if you so choose.  This could be a fruit drink, crackers, a piece of fruit, raw veggies, or a granola bar. No candy will be allowed.  I encourage all students to bring a filled water bottle from home to drink from throughout the day.

Your child will often bring home daily work.  Try to set aside some time so that you and your child can review this work together.  Offer praise and encouragement for the work that your son or daughter has done.

I am looking forward to spending a wonderful year with your child.  Please feel free to drop me a note or call me at school (879-3361 ext. 363) if you have a question or concern.  My email, which I check daily, is [email protected].

Sincerely,

Mrs. Angela Paulson
